Building Today for a Better Tomorrow

Our Reponse to Students' Overwhelming Demand for Vocational Education

Pickaway-Ross Career & Technology Center strives to be a leader in career-tech education both statewide and nationally. Pickaway-Ross was awarded over $7 million to expand it's carpentry, construction, robotics and manufacturing programs, underscoring the state's dedication to bolstering vocational education initiatives.

The expansion project signifies a pivotal moment in PRCTC history, poised to enhance its capacity to serve the educational needs of the community and beyond. The new facilities will not only accomodate the growing student population, but also facilitate the delivery of cutting-edge programs tailored to meet the evolving demands of various industries.

16,000 sq ft Expansion Addition

Over the next 12-14 months we are planning for the 16k square foot addition which will bring brand new lab areas for Commercial Carpentry and Construction Technologies programs. The new expansion will allow the renovation of lab spaces for Robotics and Manufacturing (RAMTEC), Veterinary Assisting, and Electrical programs, as well as an open lab space for future programming. This phase will also include the renovation of a new staff lounge and accommodate the need for additional student restrooms.

Why We Do What We Do

"Just as valuable as the carpentry skills that I learned were the soft skills I gained in the lab and classroom. If I had gone straight to work in the field without taking this program, not only would I have not had all the carpentry skills that I learned at Pickaway-Ross, but I wouldn't have had the teamwork, problem-solving, or leadership skills that I gained."

Andrew, Commercial Carpentry Graduate Class of 2024

Employee at ACP Ohio (Acoustic Ceiling Panels)

"In Commercial Carpentry, I learned how to build walls out of metal, hang and finish drywall, and install drop ceilings. This program helped me in the workforce by showing me what was expected of me."

Levin, Commercial Carpentry Graduate, Class of 2024

   Employee at Ferguson Construction

"Commercial Carpentry most definitely built character within me and gave me the skills to start in life and excel in the trades. And most importantly I learned If you're early, you're on time. If you're on time, you're late - and if you're late you're fired!"

Jimmy, Commercial Carpentry Graduate, Class of 2020

   Employee at Mars

"I came into the Commercial Carpentry program with no knowledge at all, and now I have a job that I enjoy showing up to everyday. The program helped me by teaching the same exact stuff I see on job sites."

Addison, Commercial Carpentry Graduate Class of 2024

   Employee at Valley Interior Systems

"I liked the Construction Tech program because it helped me with basic building skills, like framing, drywall, and mudding. Working on the Huntington project helped, it gave me true real-world experience on the job site and gave me insight into how everything works in the trade."

Alyssa

Construction Tech | Class of 2025

"I always dreamed of being a Journeyman Electrician, now I am living that dream. Thank you Pickaway-Ross."

Shelbie

Electrical Graduate | Class of 2018

RAMTEC is giving me over $20,000 in certifications before I graduate high school. I am continuing on to college for mechanical engineering next year and RAMTEC has helped me be prepared!"

Schylar

RAMTEC Graduate | Class of 2023

"Your class (Vet Assisting) definitely prepared me the most out of all of the classes I took in high school. I always thought of your class as intense and that’s what college is."

Sophia Henson, Pre-Vet Student at University of Findlay

Vet Assisting Graduate | Class of 2023

"Coming to Pickaway-Ross allowed me to follow in my Dad's footsteps to IBEW local 575 in Portsmouth, OH."

Morgan

Electrical Graduate | Class of 2023

"RAMTEC set me up for success in the workforce and college. It was the foundation that my college education was built on."
